j4 ads!

The image I found was this chevy one. I think its very effective because it has a deeper meaning than just cars. The Chevy company is trying to say that no other car company can help fix a chevy except for chevy dealerships or chevy garages because they know how it should run and they know it better than any other kind of car shop. They're showing it through a woman who clearly has had a lot of plastic surgery. They're giving you a stronger example by saying that God purposely made your face the way it is for a reason, and that you can't just get your nose or eye brows or lips fixed by anyone because it wont look or run as properly. They think that something can look pretty on the outside but not necessarily run efficently. To me, its showing how bad the lady looks and how I wouldn't want my car to run or work bad because I don't get it fixed by the people who invented chevys, just like how I wouldn't want to do anything drastic to my face because I don't naturally have it. The ad I think uses a lot of pathos to show the sensitive side and more realistic relatable side of the Chevy, since plastic surgery is so controversial.

  1. This is a really interesting ad, and you did a smart job analyzing its implications. I wonder who its audience is, though?
