Journal 5

http://kidshealth.org/teen/your_body/beautiful/plastic_surgery.html#

In this website, they are informing teenagers on plastic surgery. On the top, instead of posting an image of a beautiful girl, they display a picture of surgeons looking overhead a patient. It gives off a scary feeling, since many people think of the results of plastic surgery instead of the procedure itself. In the article, they speak in casually instead of using dictionary words and often give the definition of medical terms. If the audience for this article had been directed towards other medical professionals or even maybe adults, the tone of the article would be much more formal and there would be no need for definitions. However, since the audience is teenagers, they feel the need to relate to teenagers by speaking conversationally.
