This ad is advertising the appeal of buying a used BMW, but it took me a little while to figure that out. This ad uses pathos by putting a picture of a beautiful and seemingly naked woman on their ad. This can really "rev guys engines", no pun intended. This ad is so effective because not only does it have the appeal in look, but it associates the picture with the words "sheer driving pleasure." If you put the word pleasure anywhere near a picture like that, you will have every guy in a five mile radius paying attention to you ad. The point that BMW is trying to make here is that although you may not be the first to drive the car, it is still a beautiful and fantastic piece of engineering.
Wow--talk about blatant sexualization! Interesting that they're comparing a used car to a woman who is not a virgin. I can't decide if it's creepy or oddly liberating because it doesn't glorify the virginal woman as the most desirable thing ever.
