Websites can be very misleading. A lot of websites are biased, based on opinion or even false and come off as an educational and factual site. One website that I found while I was doing research on my topic was the SOGOODBLOG. On this website, Eick wrote a pages worth of criticism on the new Burger King 7 inch sandwich advertisement. The page is organized and full of attention grabbing pictures that use colors to lure your eyes into the webpage. The colorfulness and lack of organization on the webpage give the impression that the post might not be so factual and educational. The vibrant playful pictures work with the website and push away the idea that the page might be strictly educational. This website isn’t one of the misleading ones that I was referring to before. Also, comments on the blog aren’t only under the post, they also appear on top and side of the website. I think it is helpful to have a bunch of comments appear next to the post so that you don’t forget that you are reading an opinion. In this situation, I think words are more important than the images because it’s a blog, its meant to offer peoples ideas through expression via text, not images. Although this blog happens to be about an image, an image isn’t going to be enough to express people’s idea over the image, it’s the words that are going to do the job.

  1. I think it's really interesting that oftentimes visuality affects the way we perceive credibility, and this sounds like an example of just that.
